Patient Education

A complete education service is offered as a means of educating you and your family on the causes of chronic wounds, and various methods for preventing the recurrence of such wounds. Examples of classes offered by our experienced staff include:

  • Nutrition counseling
  • Diabetics education
  • Wound care education
  • Hyperbaric oxygen therapy orientation
  • Prevention techniques for pressure sensitive areas
  • Skin care
  • In-service education programs are available upon request

Staffing

Our unit is staffed by doctors, nurses, and technicians who have received special training in wound care and hyperbaric oxygen therapy. They will work with your referring doctor to coordinate your plan of care to achieve the best possible outcomes.


Insurance

In general, insurance plans and Medicare cover the conditions listed in this brochure. For specific questions about insurance coverage, we recommend contacting your insurance provider.

Billing

The hospital will bill for technical services and supplies provided for your wound care. Separate billing statements will be sent to you by the physicians that provided professional medical services to you on the days they were scheduled for unit coverage. The physicians are:

Schedules

Our unit offers both in-patient and out-patient services, providing a convenient way for working individuals to receive treatment. Appointments are made in consideration of your schedule, during regular working hours, with emergency treatments available after hours.
